Meet your Host, Dr. Heather Sandison

Dr. Heather Sandison is the founder and medical director of North County Natural Medicine and the founder of Marama. She specializes in neurocognitive medicine and neurohacking and has been trained to address imbalances that affect the brain, including Autism, ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, and Alzheimer’s disease. 

She has trained with Dr. Dale Bredesen, MD, Dr. Neil Nathan, MD, Dr. Bill Walsh, Ph.D., and Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, MD, and regularly attends and presents at integrative medicine conferences throughout the year.

Her healing philosophy centers around treating the causes of imbalances in the body. She believes in the body’s power to heal itself. She is passionate about supporting her patients as they co-create solid foundations for optimal health through sustainable lifestyle changes and medical intervention. 

Dr. Sandison is dedicated to learning all she can about brain health and considers her amazing patients at NCNM and residents at Marama some of her best teachers. Dr. Sandison has been awarded a research grant to study the effects of individualized interventions on patients struggling with cognitive decline at NCNM.

She earned her Naturopathic Doctorate at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. She currently serves on the medical advisory board of Neurohacker Collective and is a regular host of the Collective Insights podcast.
